Peer support built specificallyfor transfer students.
Transfer students often have to navigate complicated applications, unfamiliar timelines, financial uncertainty, and major life transitions with limited access to people who have gone through the same process. We believe free peer mentoring matters because guidance should not depend on who you know or what you can afford. Success Transfer Mentoring gives transfer students a low-pressure place to ask questions, hear honest experiences, and feel supported by someone who understands the path firsthand.
Success Transfer Mentoring is designed for prospective or current transfer students who want peer guidance from students who have successfully transferred to top universities. However, any prospective college student is welcome to create an appointment. If you are a traditional high school graduate applying to college, we may still advise you if you are okay with the fact that all our mentors are transfer students, not traditional applicants.
Yes. Sessions are completely free and intended to make transfer guidance more accessible nationwide.
Anything. Mentees have asked about the transfer process, application planning, community college resources, adjusting after transfer, research experience, majors, essay-writing tips, etc. Many students have booked appointments just to hear about our mentors' experiences, and to help relieve some of the anxiety that comes with the transfer process.
Each session is designed to be about 15 minutes, so mentors can help more students while keeping scheduling simple. Mentees can choose to extend their sessions based on their availability.
If you are interested in becoming a mentor, head to the Join us tab and fill out the form. Success Transfer Mentoring mentors are unpaid volunteers who are passionate about giving their time to support transfer students, and each mentor stays completely in charge of their own schedule.
No. Success Transfer Mentoring mentors share peer support and personal experience. They do not provide official admissions, academic, legal, financial, or medical advice. There is no designated formula for transfer admission success, which is why we are here to provide the most honest advice possible based on real transfer experiences.
